5 Reasons Why Online Tutoring Outranks In-Person

Online tutoring can connect you to any tutor in America. You can be sitting at home on your couch and receive tutoring lessons from a grad student at Yale, or MIT!

We’re using the same online platform as Harvard and UC BerkeleyLearn more about our online tutoring platform.

But how can that compare to face-to-face interaction? What you need to realize is you’re not losing anything from online tutoring sessions… you’re gaining.

RECENTLY UPDATED: The # 1 Reason To Do Online Tutoring

Back when we created this infographic in August of 2015, we did not take into account the most important factor why all students should pick online tutoring over in-person.

The world has changed. We live in the digital age, and just like we are changing the ways we transport ourselves (Uber), watch movies (Netflix), keep in contact with friends (Facebook), do our errands (Amazon), it would only make sense we need to change what we are learning!

Not only are students going to get a higher quality tutor with online tutoring but your student will also develop skills that are necessary to thrive in this new digital age.

How do you think their interviews, company meetings, and collaboration with co-workers is going to be in 2025? It is going to be online! Let’s help them get ahead of the curve and adapt to the digital age!

Check out a short video from our CEO, Todd VanDuzer, who shares with you his insight on this subject! (Fast forward to 3 minutes.)

Conclusion

Like I said, and like this graphic shows, online tutoring can only add to your child’s tutoring experience. It’s tutoring anywhere, anytime, from anyone. It’s a chance for your child to:

  • Get the absolute best tutor for him/her
  • Save time and get ahead in their studies
  • Develop a love for learning
  • Have all questions answered
  • Learn digital age skills that are essential to thrive!

So… what’re you waiting for?

On online tutoring websites, students get personal attention to their queries by online tutors. Online tutoring websites provide great assistance to the students in instant need. Thanks for giving insights on online tutoring!!

Thank you for the comment! (I wrote a reply already but lost it, so forgive me if this is duplicated!) 🙂

But many people think online is not as good, but no! Kids these days are actually ‘in their natural habitat’ online and love it. Even if parents are not as comfy working online, students find it wonderful, helpful, and convenient.

Thanks for the support! Keep up your good work too! 🙂

Todd, good article, but you need to fix your last line of the info-graphic (or potential clients may not take you seriously). It should read: “Even though Johnny is busy, he and his tutor can always find a time to meet.” It is incorrect to say, “…his tutor and him…”

Tutoring always has been helpful for students as it helps them to prepare for various competitive, academic or any other exams and ensure the success, when it comes to online tutoring, it is certainly a virtue for student, which not only save their time but also give the freedom to take it as own convenience.
So Thanks for sharing an informative article.!!

I also like how it takes away distracting social elements, like they way you’re dressed or awkwardly being in an unfamiliar place, body language and social cues. If you drop a pencil, you can pick it up while talkig and not miss a beat, or stay silent as the student thinks without distracting them. In person, you would both have to acknowledge it and make snall talk about to avoid being rude and “ignoring” the other person.

Having been a tutor for six years now, I honestly believe that online tutoring is the most efficient and effective way to get help with school courses. The online platform that Student-Tutor utilizes is simple yet adequate for the needs of both the tutor and the student. Often, I find that online tutoring can be more engaging for students than in-person tutoring. One-on-one sessions are so important for successful learning, and there is something very personal and focused about online tutoring.

So many parents come from a time where physical proximity meant quality and that’s just not the case anymore. Kids today have no problem interacting in online platforms… If we have a quality product (and we do) we shouldn’t put it behind a more antiquated version simply because it WAS the norm. Online is the new in person!

As a car-less, bike-reliant, and environmentally conscientous student, I’ve welcomed online tutoring for its flexibility and efficiency. All the time spent driving from place to place, dealing with distractions, etc. is now simply time used for learning.

So true, Felix! I love how more and more people like yourself are thinking about more environmentally friendly ways to go about their daily lives. With technological advancements, this is becoming more and more possible! Bravo.

This is outstanding. I know for a fact that many students are switching to online tutoring for various reasons. It’s too bad so many people are fearful that it won’t be as effective, which just isn’t the case.

I feel like when I throw on some noise canceling headphones and my student does the same, all the background distractions disappear. It’s them and me for an hour or an hour and a half where we can focus 100% on the goal for that day. You can’t get that kind of focus in-person.

That’s a great point. Many times when I used to tutor in-person there were pets running around, kitchen cooking noises, and the TV going in the background — lots of distractions. But with online tutoring using earbuds or headphones, both tutor and student can really ‘plug in’ and better block out distracting environments.
